The Child of StrangeFor years I've been told by people around me that I am strange. They don't say it out loud of course, but I see it when they look at me; when I spout some obscure reference, or make a joke at something is a bit vulgar or macabre, or when I think or do something that doesn't fit in the predetermined box that society has decided for us is "correct".

Love Hurts

"All the ships came in right?" Kubera was watching the main display screen, figures, videos and other important information was displayed across the screen. Down below the captains chair were the myriad of techs and support that gave the huge ship life.
"No sir, we lost five in the attack," said one tech who was tapped into his own personal terminal.

"Give me names."

"Unknown as of yet, pilots have yet to check in. Sir, they're closing in, we need to jump."

"Dammit," Kubera hissed, "Where's Eremiel."

"Kubera," someone said, the drauikk looked down to his side, the speaker was another drauikk, only his hair was uncharacteristically blonde

So this is my character Kare Dice. She doesn't like to be drawn EVER!! for ANY reason! Somehow I got her to behave long enough to draw this. To which I'm amazed since I can never draw her right.

Kare is probably my oldest character who hasn't gone through an identity crisis and a look overhaul. In the past 6 years I've had her she has basically always looked the same; pale skinned, yellow hair, jade eyes. Only thing that's changed is that she's gotten progressively shorter over the years and she now stands at about 4'10".

Her story starts when she's like 15/16 but acts more like a person twice her age. Which is understandable considering she grew up without parents (or a family of really any kind save her kid brother) on a destroyed moon world where if you couldn't be useful; you starved and died. All the while raising a brother who's 7 years her junior. Long story (and I mean LONG story) short she, and her brother make it off the moon world when a deadly disease starts killing off everyone and find themselves in a futuristic world facing all sorts of new problems.

This picture pretty much represents Kare's general disposition; just keep going and eventually everything will get better, even if you have to force it and hate it every second of the way. And, eventually, it does just that. I just put her through hell and back before she gets there.
